Athletics is a summer sport with the season running from September to March. Registration usually opens in early August via the Little Athletics NSW website. Note many of our younger age groups (including 4 year old Tot/Tiger Cubs program, U6 to U10) fill up quickly and close before the start of the season.

Maximum age group capacity and waiting lists
The Balmain Little Athletics Committee is concerned about the safety of all our athletes at King George Oval and the level of enjoyment for each child and parent/caregiver in large groups of athletes. As a result, age groups are closed when the number of registered athletes reaches 55.
After an age group is closed, we will open a waiting list. These lists will be maintained until mid-December or closed when the number of athletes on the waiting list reaches 20. Athletes may be invited to register at a reduced registration fee in January (mid season). This is at the discretion of the Balmain Little Athletics Committee. Please be aware that all members of the Committee are volunteers, as are all our age managers.
INFORMATION REGARDING 2021/2022 SEASON
Registration Fees
Registration is expected to open via the LANSW website on Monday 2nd August 2021. An earlybird registration fee for the full season of $150 will be offered until 5pm on 29th August after which a fee of $175 will apply. This season your registration fee INCLUDES our 50th Anniversary competition singlet as well as other items to mark the club's 50th season.
If you are eligible for the $100 active kids voucher this needs to be applied during the registration process as it cannot be redeemed retrospectively.
For athletes in the U12 to U17 age groups the registration fee includes membership of the Balmain Athletics Club which allows athletes to compete at all Athletics NSW competitions.
Registration number distribution & uniforms
A registration collection day will be held at King George Oval, Manning Street, Rozelle on Saturday 11th September from 1-3pm. After that registration packs may be available at the Info Desk in the Club Room between 7.45-8.15am on Saturday competition days.
All new athletes must show a proof of age document (eg birth certificate or passport). A photo on your smartphone is acceptable. You can also upload a photo of the proof of age document online.
A parent/carer from each family (other than Age Managers) must sign up to assist in the Canteen or on the BBQ once during the season.

2021/2022 season commencement
The 2021/2022 season will begin with a Junior Intro Day for all our U6, U7, U8 & U9 athletes on Saturday 18 September 2021 at King George Oval (KGO), Manning street, Rozelle from 8.15am. The first competition day for ALL age groups is Saturday 25 September.
